Why Do We Love Dogs?

Some humans love dogs just as much as they love their children…

Scientist have discovered that when a human looks at their children, there is a chemical released in the brain called Oxytocin. This chemical is known for kickstarting the feeling of love and protection towards another person. It turns out that this same chemical is released when a human looks at their dog and also when the dog looks at their human. This is proof that some humans love their pet dogs just like they love their family members. You may or may not believe this, but you probably still wonder why???

Why do we love our dogs?

Dogs are loyal and your are their world

I think one of the biggest factors of why we love our dogs so much is down to the loyalty and love the dogs have towards us. We are their world, they don’t know a lot about what goes on outside so almost their whole life is revolving our their humans and their home. I found a post about how dogs worry about their owners at https://www.madpaws.com.au/blog/dogs-worry-owners/ It just shows how much they love us.

They aren’t fussy

Most dogs are easy going. They will sleep almost anywhere, walk wherever you take them and eat whatever you feed them. As a pet, this makes them a desirable member of your family. Us humans are attracted to convenience, and although thats not the reason why we love them, i do think it plays a major part in why we choose them as pets.

They will always be there for you

If you are ever feeling down and lonely, you can always rely on your dog to be there for you. Most dogs are good at sensing emotions and will naturally try to cheer you up when you are sad. You may have seen in life when a person is upset, their dog will approach them and it really does make them feel better.

mans best friend

They really are mans best friend

You have probably heard the old saying “a dog is a mans best friend”. That saying is true. A dog will never intentionally hurt its human, it spends its whole life trying to please them. Sometimes they may make mistakes, but it is only in rare cases where a dog will do nasty things on purpose. A nasty dog is a product of its environment, most of them are lovely, but the ones that aren’t so nice are usually just acting defensive.

Brilliant walking partners

A lot of humans like to get out into the open air, walk by the water and wonder around the forests. This makes dogs a great companion for people who love to get outside as they love it too, more than any person does. Dogs just love to explore new places and smell new things. Like humans, this is how dogs increase their intelligence and overcome fears. The fact that we share this quality with dogs is one more reason why i think we love them so much.

The reward of training them

We never get bored of our dogs, from puppy to old age canines, we always find them funny and surprising. It makes us feel happy to see them run, jump or play with other dogs. So, for us to train them up the way we like them is give us humans an amazing sense of pride. We can teach them to sit, shake a paw, bark on command and much more. If you know that you have been successful at training them, its going to make you proud you and your dog.

So why do we love them???

To sum it up, the reason i think we love our dogs so much is because of how much they love us. They will jump with excitement when they see us, they will wait all day for you to come home and when you get there they will be so happy to see you its like they have won the lottery. Your dog won’t care if you look good or bad, smell nice or stinky. Nether do they take notice of the things you wear, they just want your time because they love you. And this is the why i think humans are so strongly bonded with their dogs.
